Dr. Brett Gschwend
Dr. Brett Gschwend is a chiropractor by trade who applies the practice of a new field of vitalistic healthcare referred to as functional neurology. Along with training in functional neurology, he has also extensively studied functional medicine/clinical nutrition and applied kinesiology. When combining these unique forms of assessment and therapies, Dr. Gschwend is able to determine and treat any area of the brain that is not working properly. When even slight dysfunction is present in the brain, it could manifest in various different ways that could be decreasing one’s quality of life. Along with addressing the brain and nervous system, Dr. Brett also helps those with metabolic or nutritional issues, as well as musculoskeletal imbalances or injuries.
Dr. Gschwend was born and raised in Eastern Arkansas where he lived his younger days learning the value of hard work and perseverance, both through his labors, as well as through the many sports he played. His main focus in sports was football, which is what ultimately led him to his career choice as a chiropractor. In his last season of high school football, Dr. Brett sustained an injury that left him unable to move or feel anything below the level of his neck. Fortunately, this paralysis was temporary, however, there were many problems that persisted from there on. Dr. Brett, as many do, went through many doctors in the medical field with no help and finally found a chiropractor who forever changed his life. After this moment, Dr. Brett knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life helping others to overcome the difficulties they may encounter. This is what gives Dr. Gschwend the understanding of what many others are going through, as well as the burning passion for helping as many individuals as he possibly can.
He attained his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas, Texas, studied functional neurology, vestibular rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury through the Carrick Institute of Graduate studies, studied functional medicine/clinical nutrition through Apex Energetics, and completed his internship at the world-renowned Carrick Brain Centers.
